Consultancy, Coaching and Organisational Change

Supporting people, groups, and systems through complexity and change

Alongside my work as a counsellor and executive coach, I offer consultancy to organisations, leadership teams, and partnerships navigating complexity, transition, and organisational change.

My work sits at the intersection of individual experience, group dynamics, and wider systems, recognising that sustainable change happens when strategy, structure, and the human experience of work are aligned.

An Integrated Approach

My background in counselling and coaching deeply informs how I work at an organisational level. I pay attention not only to plans, structures, and outcomes, but also to:

  • How change is experienced emotionally and relationally
  • The unspoken dynamics within groups and teams
  • Patterns of behaviour that repeat under pressure
  • Where anxiety, avoidance, or conflict may be shaping decisions

This allows me to support change that is both psychologically informed and operationally grounded.

Counselling-Informed Practice

My counselling training brings:

  • A strong ethical framework and attention to boundaries
  • Sensitivity to power, vulnerability, and safeguarding
  • An ability to work with strong emotion, uncertainty, and distress
  • Deep listening to what is said and what is not

While organisational work is not therapy, this foundation allows me to hold difficult conversations safely and professionally.

COACHING-INFORMED CONSULTANCY

My coaching practice contributes:

  • A focus on clarity, agency, and accountability
  • Support for leaders to think rather than react
  • Structured reflection linked to action
  • Development of leadership capacity during change

This ensures that consultancy does not create dependency but builds confidence and capability within individuals and teams.

Areas of Consultancy

Group and team work

I work with leadership teams, boards, and staff groups to:

  • Improve trust, collaboration, and psychological safety
  • Navigate conflict or stuck dynamics
  • Clarify roles, authority, and decision-making
  • Facilitate challenging or high-stakes conversations
  • Change management and transition

Change Management and Transition

I support organisations through:

  • Organisational change and restructuring
  • Leadership transitions and senior appointments
  • Partnership working, mergers, and integration
  • Cultural and ways-of-working shifts

My focus is on helping leaders attend to both the technical and emotional realities of change.

Systems and Whole-Organisation Change

I help organisations:

  • Understand the systems they operate within
  • Identify patterns and unintended consequences
  • Align strategy, culture, governance, and behaviour
  • Work more effectively across boundaries and silos

This is particularly relevant in complex, multi-agency, or values-led environments.

How I Work

My consultancy style

  • Relational – grounded in trust and professional containment
  • Systemic – attentive to patterns and wider context
  • Reflective – creating thinking space alongside delivery
  • Ethical – informed by counselling and coaching standards

Work may include

  • Facilitated group sessions or away days
  • Leadership reflection and sense-making spaces
  • Diagnostic conversations and observations
  • Ongoing consultancy or critical-friend support

Who This Is For

This work is particularly suited to:

  • Leaders carrying significant responsibility or complexity
  • Boards and senior teams under pressure or in transition
  • Organisations whose values matter deeply to their people
  • Systems where relational dynamics strongly affect outcomes

Why Clients Choose to Work With reflective practice

Clients often value:

  • A calm, grounded presence in difficult moments
  • The ability to work with emotion without becoming overwhelmed by it
  • Clear thinking that integrates people and performance
  • Challenge delivered with respect, warmth, and honesty

My dual background allows me to work comfortably across individual, group, and organisational levels.

Working Together

  • Consultancy may stand alone or sit alongside:
  • Executive or leadership coaching
  • Reflective spaces for senior leaders
  • Support for individuals navigating organisational change

If you are unsure what combination would be most helpful, we can explore this together.
